We had a great turnout at our 8th Bookworms meeting, with our Big Bookworms (aged 9 to 13 years) Khaled, Neil, Aviv, Jainil, Issa, Asmi and Tanima coming together after the long summer break for our 📚 🐛 Word Lovers Reunite 🐛 📚 meet-up.
We launched into the meeting with a fun game, "True Story Bro!" which revealed some good liars and some very honest and descriptive personalities amongst us. 😉
Next up was our game Anagram-A-Rama in which our logophiles competed to unscramble words and write down as many three+ letter words they could from the given words. Khaled won this game with a whopping 15 points, with Jainil following up at 14 points. We discussed techniques on how to approach word games like these in the future.
Things got properly competitive in our next game "Team Thesaurus" where each team had to come up with the maximum number of synonyms for the given word. Khaled, Neil and Aviv won this game with 11 points more than their opponents who were sad, disheartened, dejected, upset, broken-hearted, dispirited... you get the drift. 😉
All in all, we had a great time at this meeting and hopefully learned a lot of new words to add to our vocabularies. I hope to see you all soon at the next meet-up!
